  Annual Gynecologic exams

  Preventive care is the cornerstone of health for women. I see the annual exam as not just a pap smear visit. It is an opportunity to explore physical health as well as sexual and mental health concerns. A pap smear and breast exam may certainly be a part of the visit, but I take great care to listen and explore any aspect of a patient's health that she is interested in discussing at the visit.

  Gynecologic Surgery

  Gynecologic problems sometimes require a surgical solution. I most often treat heavy menstrual bleeding (after the completion of childbearing) with a procedure called endometrial ablation. Depending on a patient's medical condition, endometrial ablation can be done in the office which saves a great deal of time and money. I've had numerous patients tell me that office ablation has been a life-changing procedure!. I can often treat Problems such as symptomatic fibroids, or painful ovarian cysts with minimally invasive Robotic surgery. Robotic surgery reduces surgical blood loss, leaves very small scars, and minimizes hospital stays to one night in most cases. I'm always happy when I can tell a patient that she could possibly be back to work in two weeks after hysterectomy depending on the type of work.
